TimThumb.php Help

Hello,
I am having trouble with TimThumb.php on the blog I am working on. The server that hosts it works with PHP5 so there should be no trouble there. I have also changed the cache to 777 as per the theme’s author, but still the slide show does not seem to work. Is anyone familiar with this problem and do you have any suggestions on how to fix it?
