TimThumb Plugin Issues

I’m using the timthumb plugin for my site and I am wondering if I can edit the amount of text the comes after the image when it is used as a thumbnail.

My issue is that I will be pulling thumbnails in sometimes, and sometimes only text. Is there a way set the script to pull only the image if there is an image, but to pull only text if there is no image in place?
