I am new to WP, and now I have pretty much customising my theme, I have started to add posts and custom posts for the live website.

However, each time I update a post (something I did quite a lot of to get used to the look/feel and layout) there seems to be an extra entry in the wp_posts. I have posted the following:

    1 Post
    6 Custom Post
    30 or so images

but there appears to be over 1000 entries in this table.

I notce that the wp_posts.post_status field shows which posts are 'live'....

Is there a way that I can tidy up this table and remove all content that has been 'superceeded'?

Is this recommended? and will it help performance in the long-term?

    regards

WordPress keeps 'revisions' by default. The Revision Control plugin might help.
