    http://www.wildwanderingrrl.web44.net/wordpress/lots-of-zinnias/

I've put a lot of hard work into this site (yeah I know, I should have chosen a Gallery type theme ages ago, but too late now what with hundreds of images and a very slow dialup) and I ain't turning back. Hand-made thumbnails like the ones shown do work, I know from experience. Not fancy, but better than over-large display images, hm?

My prob right now is, there are certain thumbnail images on this post that simply refuse to go into their places (two by two, down the page). What am I doing wrong? I've checked and re-checked the code and I can't find any means of fixing this. I set my theme for "no sidebar" and it didn't help.

I considered using the "kitchen sink" CKEditor plugin (replacing the older 'kitchen sink' which quit working long before now) but once again, it isn't showing up...so I'm still Minus a visual editor...!

I can't see a problem in that post. With regard to the missing Visual Editor, have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Glad!that you don't see any prob with that post for 2 reasons, one being that my TNs are running on the large side and it could increase load times even for you folks with faster conn's (I wasn't sure exactly how to size them, thought 400px wide would be OK for posts that don't have a huge number of images, and 300px would be better for any post that does have a lengthy list, but it does appear to me that I could have made them all 300px wide or even a bit less....oh well)and otherwise, I tried clearing my history and it still shows me a wonky arrangement of my display. Could be my screen resolution?

I poked around at MyAdmin once or twice, but I know zilch about what goes on in there. However, I could redo plugins via http://FTP... Will do some tinkering there and see what happens. I don't get why my visual editors all keep disappearing! :(

It's possible. Try using smaller images and see if that helps.

400px wide does seem a bit hefty, now that I'm experiencing this problem. Wish now I'd made them all 300px wide, it might have been going better by now. If you missed the second part of that post, that portion is where the issues with the badly-behaved images really shows, it's fine on the first half. Seems to be a quirk with the vertical shaped TNs, the horizontal ones have been doing OK.

OH!!! It's fixed!!! It wasn't the image size at all. I went back to tinker again, and pushed the tags around a little bit here and there...seems a couple of them weren't in exactly the correct places. I FIXED THE PROB ALL BY MY OWNSIES!!!

I think it's okay, now... *happydance*

That's what I get for trying to work with complex code at 2 in the morning...
