   I am using the thumbnail template and no pics show. It appears to be broken.

   Is it printing the "Related Posts" header text at all or not?

   Do you get any results if you don't use the custom template?

   I'm having the same problem! It will show the text 'related photos' but no photos appear...

   @rycrafty try turning off the custom template and see if you get results at all, first. That way you can see if the problem is the template or the relatedness.

   Yes, I do get results with the ones called 'example' and 'list' but not 'photoblog' or 'thumbnail'.

   The photoblog one requires the Yet Another Photoblog plugin. The thumbnail one should work if you're using WordPress's built in post thumbnail feature. More info on that here:
