Yet another problem after updating to 3.3.1.
My listing for categories had thumbnails - now they don't.
This is beginning to get annoying - what is the point of nagging users to update, only for the update to break things in their site?

Use well trusted and widely used themes and plugins and berid these issues.
I only use well trusted themes and plugin from wordpress.org - all was working before upgrading.
Have you tried:
- deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
- switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
- resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
- re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.
Hi Esmi,
Thanks for that.
An awful lot of work to sort out a problem that shouldn't occur in the first place - a site that has been happily working for a number of year is broken by an update.
I am sorting the problem by reinstating featured images on each post - they had all disappeared. Poor, to say the least.
Thanks for the advice anyway.
Cheers,
Mike

It's your theme or plugins that broke the site - not WordPress.
Makes no sense - themes and plugins all updated and fine.
Bizarre.
what theme were you using?
