    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has an idea, plug-in or solution of my problem.

I want to set up a page for a portfolio. This is what I’m thinking, I create a category for portfolio posts.

Each post will include a large image of the project and a paragraph about the project.

Then I will create a page called portfolio that will call up all posts that are in the category portfolio.

That’s the part I know how to do , but I don’t know the following:

But I want the snippets of the posts that appear on the page, to show a thumbnail instead of the large image.

Does anyone know how to do this ?

    All comments welcome.

I have doubts about that, since you mentioned “making a Page”.
    Wrong.
Category_Templates do that for you out of the box without struggling with Pages.
And using a plugin, like the excerpt_reloaded in the Category templates would solve your question easily.

    Thank you for the reply.
I’ve only been using wordpress since the first of the year and am still learning new things about it.

As for the Category_Templates, that would work, but that wouldn’t allow for a link under pages would it?

Also I looked into the excerpt_reloaded plug-in. It does allow for a short version of the post with an image.

However, I only want a thumbnail of the image to be displayed, when viewing all posts. Once the user has clicked to view the entire post I want a full size image to be seen in the post page itself.

Hope that makes me more clear.

    What link? under which pages?

However, I only want a thumbnail of the image to be displayed,

Then use also the post_image plugin from the same author.

The post-image plug-in does the trick.

    Thanks a lot!
