looking to achieve the same thriftee widget as on lovesthreadless.com blog but haven’t come across anything in my search? is this just a widget or is this just updated by the admin manually?

Best bet is to contact the site owner. They give contact info on their “about” page.

cool i did check with the owner it is custom – is there anything that will display an rss item on the sidebar..

or even inventory rss pages

Yep. Use sidebar widgets. There’s an RSS widget in there by default. If you try that and it doesn’t have enough bells and whistles for you, try this:
