   I have done everything as far as I can see:
   1- I'm using a previously owned domain name
   2- Created a mysql database
   3- Modified and got the wp-config to adhere to spec
   4- Completed the 5 minute installation
   5- chmod 666 for the .htaccess file

   Then I also went and installed a cute theme that I found!

   Now- when I click "View Page" to preview what my site will look like, it still shows my old site.

   Any thoughts? I have read thru the documentation and also have the WordPress for dummies book in front of me, so I apologize if this is right in my face and I don't see it. Please help. ;)

   Forgot to add, my domain name is http://www.theaccardos.com and I have installed wordpress at the root.

   I'm using 1and1.com as my hosting company.

   You will need to remove or rename the index.htm or .html that is what opens your site now,
   index.htm takes precedence over wordpress' index.php

   I had to remove default.htm

   Nowhwere, because this file is NOT from WordPress.
