• I think Hello Dolly is the Hello World of WordPress plugins, a short, cursory introduction to writing more complicated WP plugins. So really, it’s more intended towards potential plugin developers than toward the average joe.

If you don’t like it, there’s no need to get so inflamed about its presence. Just remove it!

  • Well said Geoffrey. That’s exactly what the plugin is for and it’s so easy to delete if you don’t like it.

I just came to say what you said, thanks for your great comment!!

Contrariwise, since there aren’t enough people who activate it to generate stats whether it’s compatible with the 4.0 release, clearly the masses have spoken. They don’t want it.

    It’s for plugin developers.

I’m sure a plugin developer knows how to download and activate a plugin.

It’s time to stop U2-ing the plugin down the throats of so many people who are clearly distressed at having to “simply delete it”.

Or choose a plugin that people WANT and ram that one down their throats. Find a plugin that is activated the most frequently.

By way of comparison, it’s clearly fine to delete spam in your inbox. Do you have an anti-spam filter? If so, why? “If you don’t like it, just remove it!”
