I'm going to make this rather short and simple, simply because I fear that people will notice 'bbpress', 'wordpress', and 'integration' in the title of this post and ignore it, thinking it to be another issue about making bbPress look like WordPress with the theme. As well, I've searched both the forums here, at bbPress, made use of Google, and exhausted other resources to simply have come up with nothing close to what I am wanting. So much for keeping it simple, short and to the point, eh?
Are there resources out there that might be able to help me with accomplishing a full integration of WordPress and bbPress? I can imagine it now.... someone using a macro to respond with 'make your bbPress theme match your WordPress theme'. Let me try again, further explaining what I am wantring to do. A full, that is complete, integration of my bbPress forum with my WordPress blog, both front-end and back-end.
I have set up a XAMPP server on my laptop to begin development and experimentation with this, but I am hardly a developer, just some guy that is slowly sifting his way through piles of php and mysql, and I am needing a few nudges in the right direction by those who would make me look like a child in front of a keyboard if we were to have a conversation over lunch about lamp, wp, and bb!
I need information on both the core function of wordpress (which I know to be found heavily documented in the codex, so forget I really mentioned that), the altering of a wordpress back-end (that is the administration panel), and so on.... I am tired of typing right now, and already know this post might be somewhat confusing, so I will leave you with this for the time being, hoping there is that geek that might be able to strike me upside the temple with his amazing linkages.
