• Hello,

We recently did an update with our theme, and ever since I’ve been having trouble with links. For instance, I am trying to link “Follow us on Facebook” with the Facebook page. I highlight the words, hit the Link icon, hit “Add Link” and I am redirected to the list of posts. But, the page I am working on isn’t even a post. Any ideas? I’ve also tried linking to an existing page on my site and it has the same result.

    Thanks for you time,

    JA

  • Are you sure you know how to add external links? You can just paste the full link address in the url box in the popup.

It’s as simple as copying and pasting the link into the pop-up box, right? Because yes, I do that but am still redirected and my entire page is lost.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

What version of WordPress are you running?

Thanks for the tips! It was a plug-in that was causing the trouble. I didn’t realize that the plug-ins were updated the same day as the theme. Any time it’s activated, I can’t create links. Should I go to the plug-in forum to get some answers about how to fix this?

    Yes. 🙂
