    Hello,
I recently signed up for a wordpress account and interestingly enough, NONE of my themes work or load. I read on some other forum that this could have something to do with my htaccess file. Any idea what changes need to be made to the htaccess file to get the themes to work? If so, please do let me know. Thank you in advance.

    Regards,

    Pranav

  2. When you mention "recently signed up for a wordpress account", do you mean that you signed up with a hosting provider and installed WordPress, or are you referring to a blog at wordpress.com?

    That's not a WordPress install.

Not sure I understand. It has been integrated with a website I built in soholaunch. But I did install wordpress via my cpanel.

Ok then the address is http://www.radiocremebrulee.com/blog/ not http://www.radiocremebrulee.com/blog.php and themes DO work because I'm looking at the default theme right now.

I have a similar problem. I have a WordPress blog installed at http://professorgrow.com. It is installed at the root, not in a separate folder. I created a mySQL database for it. I have been running it fine since February.

I decided to try a different theme. I downloaded a theme called "Structure" that is a child of a theme called "Hybrid." I followed their directions exactly -- downloaded and installed (but did not activate) Hybrid. Then downloaded and installed Structure. It said for me to activate Structure only, which I did.

Now I cannot see my site at all!

I cannot even get into admin to fix the problem.

I used FTP to delete Hybrid and Structure from my wp-content/themes folder, thinking it would cause my site to revert to default theme and let me into admin to activate the theme I had been using, but I still cannot see my site!

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi thisisedie,
I tried loading that link and my blog post is not there. Furthermore, this was implemented as an integration with soholaunch website builder. Any ideas as to what might be going on.

  16. In that case, I would suggest getting in touch with Soholaunch's support department.

I am not convinced about it being a soholaunch issue. Even in wordpress, a simple update to my css of the selected theme, is not reflected in "previews" of my posts. It is almost like it doesn't read any of the CSS or anything else in the themes. This is really frustrating since this has been the case ever since I signed up for a wordpress account. Any guidance would be highly appreciated.

    1. You didn't sign up for a WordPress account. You simply installed free software.

    2. It could well be a hosting cache issue. I've come across hosts who cache CSS files for a good 20-30 mins - making live CSS editing impossible. The only solution in these cases is to download the css files, make your changes offline, delete the copy on the live server and then upload the amended css file.

    Contact your hosts...

Hi esmi...that is definitely an interesting idea. I will go ahead and give this a shot. I am OK with downloading the css files offlines. Thank you so much for your guidance.
