I have re-installed WordPress on my website. The default theme and its graphics work perfectly, but any other themes give me graphics problems, such as the header and other images are not displayed. Please see this link to better understand what could be the problem. Please guide.
    Thanks.

The theme is: Limau Orange 0.1 by Bob. The entire downloaded set including the graphics were uploaded into the theme folder. Haven’t done any modification or changed any folder that came with the download.

The body text was copied from elsewhere and is showing different background color. Can this be solved too?

    Thanks again.

  • 1. Check the permission on the files and folder for images.

    2. Do not, repeat: DO NOT copy ever from “other places” into the wysiwyg editor. If you must, first paste it into NOtepad or some other plain text editor, and from there into WP.

Thanks dear Moshu for your kind and prompt reply,

the permissions for the images folder is 0755, and the actual image files are 0644 (these permissions are same as the WordPress default theme). The images are displaying for the default theme but this particular (and many other) are not being displayed.

Can this be due to some syntax problem in the header or stylesheet files, or any other files of the particular theme? Just wondering.

Also, I knew about not copying any text directly but just forgot! I will take care. 🙂

Something is wrong with the permission after all.

    For example for background image:
    http://onlineblog.buymusicmovies.com/wp-content/themes/default/images/kubrickbgcolor.jpg

It’s coming back with a forbidden error. Check the path from the root and see if the folder permissions are set correctly.

    Sorry all!

I have tried many times without success, and now have decided to try a different theme. I would wish to stop this thread for some time. I will try more and then request your help if still unsuccessful.

    Thank you.

    Hi friends:
    :0)

I found out that while uploading the theme along with the images (in their respective folders and without changing anything, anytime), the Core Lite FTP’s mode was on “Ascii”. As you know, the images will not work if they are uploaded in Ascii mode. They should be uploaded in either “Binary” mode or in “Auto” mode. Either I erred, or maybe there was a bug in my Core FTP. Anyway, after re-uploading the entire set using ‘Ace FTP’, the images got uploaded and also worked correctly. The mode was “Automatic” (under the Tools menu).

The images and other graphics are working perfectly. Also, interestingly, the AceFTP is almost twice as fast as Core FTP. So, … great! I can sleep peacefully now!!

But… before that, I had switched over to another theme, and as the graphics were not working then, I twicked the theme and used text in different colors. I am keeping that same theme (‘Super Adsense WordPress Theme’ by Gobala Krishnan – EasyWordpress.com), simply because it is a great adsense ready theme.

Hope, anybody facing the same graphics (graphics not seen) problem will first check the FTP mode… that can save him from going bald! I almost became one myself!!

    Thanks!

i have a same problem, may anyone help…

i install my WP from fantastico, so it’s automatically setting all WP. but the themes images is can not loaded..

when i try to see the image, it’s said
    Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /wp-content/themes/default/images/kubrickheader.jpg on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

and this error effect all themes in WP…

    please help

I believe there is a problem in the supplied .htaccess mod-rewrite code that allows an image request to be redirected to the index.php instead of simply passing it along.

    bmmsb,

Don’t know how I missed this in my earlier search but it may be the help I’m looking for. Thanks for coming back with the solution that worked for you!
