Themes Editor will not allow me to save changes (4 posts)

    Hello.

    I am trying to edit inside the Theme Editor.
    I cannot save it.

    I went in and changed the permissions, but changed them
    back because it did not alter anything.

    Anyone have experience with this.
    I installed it through Fantastico.

    Do I need to install it from scratch myself in order
    to have the controls???

    Any help would be appreciated.
    I really want to hear experience.

    What permissions did you change? The .css file needs to have writable permissions, usually 777. Are you sure those are set correctly?

    The files you are editing should be chmod 666. Change back to 644 afterward to avoid security problems.
    Alternately, you can download the file to desktop - make changes - upload.
