well a good start would be to make sure that the themes you’ve tried are 2.0 compliant…
are there any “error” messages at the very bottom of the presentation page?
If someone could actually direct to some themes that were 2.0 complaint that would great.

better might be for you to tell us what 5 themes you’ve tried and we can try to figure out what the issues might be…

I’ve uploaded scattered, imhotep, abstrakt and artsmerging. I’ve alreday deleted one.
jibstar – please be patient, i know it’s difficult but these forums are all worked on by volunteers… so it may take a while before someone can get to the right answer for you… please don’t bump your threads either… someone WILL answer you when they can figure out the answer for you.
on that note – i’ve never heard of any of those themes myself… can you try going to http://themes.wordpress.net and see if you can find anything you like, try that, and let us know what happens?
I am also having the same problem.
No double folder structure, and I uploaded using normal ftp client.
Only the standard 2 themes are showing on presentation page.
There are no errors mentioned at the bottom of the page..

I am having the same problem with version 2.0.2. I have uploaded the Blix theme to /wp-content/themes/blix/ using an FTP program and made sure it wasn’t a folder within a folder (eg. /wp-content/themes/blix/blix/). Despite all that, it’s still not showing up in the Presentation page. I’ve found several mentions of this in the past few months, which makes me wonder if it is a problem with the 2.0.2 release.
Just to throw my unhelpful $.02 in, I’m having the same problem. I just installed WordPress this past weekend so I have the latest. And my theme folders are not nested. And I, too, have downloaded similar themes to those listed above with the same off-putting results.

I had similar problems. After examining WordPress address (URI) and Blog address (URI) in Dashboard > Options > General, making appropriate changes to point to where wp was installed, I was able to see the themes and use them properly.

I have the exact same problem; I posted here before about it… my URL is http://epithesisnow.com — the two themes I have uploaded but can’t see under Presentation are cub-reporter and mw1.1… By the way what does “bump for more information” mean? (sorry, total newbie here). Thanks much for any help.
