Hi
In the dashboard: open any page / post
At the top [right] you’ll see a tab screen options
Tick the boxes that you want to see: discussions
Now, scroll down, two extra tick-boxes show up below the editing screen allowing you to control if you want to allow discussions/ comments
You’ll need to set these options for every page / post individually.
Thank you very much for your reply W.P.Ginfo … I unticked everything in the discussion section, in the hopes something might take out that box: but nothing. There’s no direct “disable comments” section.
As for the bottom of each post, this is what it says.. am I missing something?..(nothing has been selected except the bottom three “no” ‘s

To get rid of the discusssion & comments:
In the dashboard: open any page / post
At the top [right] you’ll see a tab ‘screen options’
Tick the boxes: ‘discussions’
Now, scroll down, in a box called ‘discussion’ two extra tick-boxes show up below the editing screen allowing you to control if you want to allow discussions/ comments.
UNtick the ‘allow comments’ box.
You’ll need to set these options for every page / post individually.
To set the homepage, not to look like a blog, go to
- dashboard > appearance > theme settings
- click ‘general’-tab
- click default homepage
- Post listing style on ‘homepage’ > select ‘magazine’
- and ‘Last 3 posts on home’ > ‘hide’
- save options [bottom]
Yaay, it worked!! Thank you soo very very much, really truly appreciate all your help!! 🙂
Respectfully,
Shireen
