You will have to upload the image with the WordPress Upload Tool and set it as “featured image”.

i’m sorry i must be blind. is this a different tool than the upload tool available through the media library? I can’t find the WordPress Upload Tool listed in tools. if you could just point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.
