Theme width overflow problem & Custom feature post help

1) I cannot remember what caused it but I at some point or another acquired a horizontal scroll bar on the site during development. I don’t know how/why it’s there (although I know it’s happened in the past and somehow I fixed it) but I cannot get rid of it. I saw other posts saying to add hidden overflow coding to #wrapper and I *think* i tried that correctly and it didn’t change anything. Any help?

2) I wanted to custom my home page so the Top section with the automatic slider titled ‘Features’ and the side list titled ‘Latest Entries’ is ALL the same continuing list of ‘Features’ and no latest entries. I can’t find which coding controls this and it’s frustrating. The theme uses an *additonal* check box to add posts to the ‘Features’ slider although it is also one of my categories. Any help/advice?
