I don't want to have any of the text or margins above the image, and was wondering the best way to strike that out, or reduce the margins greatly so it is negligible, and give more space to content.
I am new-ish to WP, and not terribly savvy, so I apologize if this is something so basic, it's wagging me in the face.

Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues. Create a child theme for your changes.
