   can someone shed some light on these validation errors and how to resolve them? For example:

   Bad value EditURI for attribute rel on element link: Keyword edituri is not registered.

   Bad value home for attribute rel on element a: Keyword home is not registered.

   Thanks.

   The real issue here is that the HTML5 spec is still in draft form. So the spec has changed since Twenty Ten was created and could change yet again (HTML5 is not due to become a formal spec until 2014). You could either ignore the errors (they're not anything significant) or remove those attributes via a child theme.
