Was I hallucinating or did I not read that 2011 had an optional slider? I cannot find the option anywhere in the theme.

I have used many themes over the years and have never found one I liked without considerable alterations to the CSS. In reviewing the questions to look for an answer, I see I am hardly alone. I would love for some of you to post a link to the blogs you have created using 2011 where you have made considerable alterations as well, just to get ideas of what others are doing. I'm trying to give my new blog a different look but seem to be failing miserably.

The slider is a part of the 'showcase' page template. It makes a slider out of your featured posts (Ones you make 'sticky'). If you want to use it, you create a page and under 'Page Attributes' -> 'Template', select the 'Showcase Template' option. Make sure you don't have this page set as the page to show the list of recent posts, because I'm fairly certain that the template will be overridden if that is set.

http://kristinyoungtattoos.com/ uses a child theme, where the parent theme is the 2011 theme.
