    Hi all,

    I'm all new to WordPress and know nothing of code. I wanted to create a photography site, so I bought a domain, hosting and a template via godaddy. I switched to that template and everything's just a big mess even with only one blog post in it. Titles and blog text were all layered on one another. I instantly regretted having paid 40-50 usd for a template that I will pbbly never going to use. Maybe themes need to get the code adjusted, like margins and stuff...I don't know. All I know for certain, it's far from being a "It just works platform".

    Anyway, I saw that there's two more pre-installed themes. I switched to twenty eleven which I find pretty good looking and well arranged. I wanted to use that one but I saw that while looking at the mobile site, that the search box was completely in the header.

    Does anyone, by any chance, know what the problem is with that search bar?
    Here's the site: http://www.insertphotos.com

    Thanks a lot for your time

    Yannick

    It helps to know some CSS to work with positioning of elements. http://codex.wordpress.org/CSS

    If you're experimenting with CSS on your site it's a good idea to install the Custom CSS Manager so you don't mess with the original files. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-css-manager-plugin/

    To reposition the search box try adding this to your site's CSS through the Manager:

    #branding #searchform {
    position: relative;
    float: right;
    }

    thanks for your reply simple1.

    i have installed the plugin and pasted the above through the manager.

    it effectively takes it away from my banner on the mobile site. i'm still not 100% happy with the position i think.

    maybe i'll just completely take the box out of my page.
    what would i have to do to remove it completely, in a clean way?
    removing the widget sadly does not work. i tried about 1000 times. is it full of bugs, or is this wordpress' style to just invent things that don't 100% work? (or is it me, my hosting or something else? (this is a serious question btw)).

    thanks again for your time. i'm glad that somebody is willing to help me out. i really wanted to give wordpress a chance (i come from blogger, and my site would already be ready and full of content ^^). anyway i'd like to finish the site as i really want it and give it a go!
