[Theme twenty eleven] remove header text & search bar

I am using the twenty eleven theme on williamsburgrowing.org

I like the header image, but it takes up too much space and I dont want to scroll down everytime I switch pages.

I added the following code to successfully remove the dead space above the header image.

#page{margin-top:0;}

The problem is, this moved the search bar down from above the header image on to the header menu as you see. I would rather have the search bar on the side as a widget (As you see now).
How can I accomplish this? I tried commenting out the header search bar in the editor but it wound up screwing with the whole layout of the site.
