• I’m using IE 9. I recently changed the colour of my menu (links) bar from black to dark blue…matching my logo colour. The change was made and is visible in IE 9 but when I browse Firefox or Safari, the change was not made and it’s still black.

Also how can I get rid of the search box on the top right corner and move my logo closer to the top. I’m new to WP so very basic and easy instructions would be greatly appreciated.

You can review my website at http://www.brontomarketinggoup.com to see what I’m talking about.

Can anyone assist me with this?

    Thanks

  • all colors for the menu are in the ‘menu’ section of the theme, i.e. those styles starting with #access.

    btw:
please don’t edit Twenty Eleven directly, but create a child theme to work with http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

Not knowing this or how to create a child theme I simply changed the colour in the parent (i guess that’s what it’s called), however it made the change when I view it in IE but didn’t make the change in Firefox or Safari….Do have to make the change for each type of browser?

Thanks for getting back so quickly. I appreciate it.

    look again closely into the style of #access;

there are several background color declarations including those with ‘ gradient…’

this WordPress forum is not the best place to ask about general formatting problems.

That’s perfect! I made the changes and it looks great!
    Thanks for all your help.

You DON’T need to do any of this.

You can fix this in seconds!!!
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/styles/

We have a Plugin that will change the menu color and over 50 other appearance settings.

It is called “Styles” by Brainstorm Media. (It’s Free!!)

Once installed, it will show under the Appearance menu.
Look for the section called Main Menu and the first option is Wrapper.
Click the little green box (color) and type in your HEX# or choose a color.

    Save Changes.

    Thats it. Your done.
Look at your newly colored menu.

    Good Luck
