Hi, when I create a child theme I cant access one of my plugins widgets, its disappears(I looked in the inactive section etc.)

This doesnt happen when I create a child theme based on twentyeleven, so I presume its specific to this theme.

Any idea I can get the widget to show when child theme is active? The widget does appear when the parent theme is active.

    Hi stemie,

can you tell me which plugin it is?

Does the Child Theme add or remove widgets or sidebars?

    Thanks,
    Konstantin

Its actually a custom plugin (a jquery calendar).

The child theme does add a sidebar but I also tried it by removing that code unfortunately the problem persists.

I also tried the child theme with no functions.php file, still no widget.

The widget appears with a blank twentyelven child theme.

    Thanks

Do you use the lates Widget API and register it on 'widget_init'?

I'm sorry, but I don't think I can help you further without looking at the code. :)
I don't know either your custom Child Theme or your custom Plugin.

As much as I want to help you, I don't see how I can.

    Cool no worries.

Could be the plugin but the widget only disappears when I make a child theme for the-bootstrap even if it has no modifications done to it, the most basic child theme.

    Thanks for replying anyway.
