You can see the front page with the “dots” problem at http://www.popupci.org
I should mention that we made a child theme, which has absolutely no modifications whatsoever, and it is being used, just in case we would want to make modifications. Surely the use of an unmod’d child theme would not cause this? Nevertheless, I will switch to the main theme just to make sure.
Update: OK, the use of a child theme was causing the slider to not work.
OK, how am I suppose to make needed style changes if I cannot use a child theme? Help!
Also, although the slider works when I don’t use the child theme, the dots are still covering the images in the slider! Help!
Hi Joseph,
Our theme Simple Catch is not ready for child theme. You have to use it as the parent theme only.
If you want to do simple customization through css then you can add in “Custom CSS Styles” from Theme Options-> Custom CSS styles box.
I have uploaded the screenshot of the Custom CSS style box. http://ScrnSht.com/pijrov

I had this same issue. My guess is that within the theme there are some links to files that use a relative file path rather than an absolute path.
I solved it by copying all the theme files and folders into my child theme, rather than just style.css. Seems to be working fine doing it that way.
