  • Hi creativasfera,

This will happen with any Theme that doesn’t use the Child Theme sorry 🙁

Just before we do the update, WordPress will warn us about the deletion and that everything will be lost: http://i.imgur.com/4wtvV.png that would be the notice 🙁

I also have this on top of the style.css

NOTE: DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE, IF YOU DO IT WILL BE OVERWRITTEN BY THE NEXT UPDATE. CREATE CHILD THEME INSTEAD.

    See:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
    http://themeid.com/forum/topic/505/child-theme-example/
    http://themeid.com/forum/forum/12/responsive-documentation/

    just in case as well.

    Emil

Once I red your post above again I realized that one question was left unanswered. Theme Options are saved in MySQL database and unless there was an issue with hosting provider you would not loose them. Now that would be only if there was a domain change, hosting swapping etc.

Here’s what you can try: Get in touch with your host and see if they can roll back the site before the Theme was updated. I’m with DreamHost and this is done pretty easily, many others will have backups in place as well.

Please let me know if there’s anything else 🙂

    Thanks,
    Emil
