[resolved] Theme problem: Only header showing up (5 posts)

Hello everyone, I've got a weird upgrade related issue with a custom theme I'm hoping someone can help out with.

I built a theme back in 2010 that's worked through many upgrades. It's got a lot of custom code here and there so troubleshooting is tricky at this point but I've disabled all plugins so that's a start.

When I test my page using the twentyten theme (a common suggestion) everything is there, content-wise, but with my theme, I only see the header background and my logo. Blank page below and no admin bar above (a space for it, but it's empty).

I'm guessing there's an issue with my header.php file so I'll attach it below.

Yes, I know there are probably better ways to put my particular theme together at this point that weren't options when I built it 2 years ago. Yes, I know I should rebuild it from the ground up and "update it" so it works properly with WP 3.3.1.

The weird thing is, right after I upgraded to 3.3.1, it worked fine. I updated all the content, images, etc. since I hadn't in a while then the next day, nothing. Admin pages work fine but nothing below header will show up.

I wish I had the time to give it the TLC it needs right now, but unfortunately I was laid off from my 9-to-5 last week and need to use this as a makeshift portfolio site for my job hunt so no time!

Any and all help greatly appreciated!

By the way, the site is at http://www.level70design.com.

If you need any further code examples or info, please let me know. I just need this working again, even if it's just held together with duct tape and wires...

Well, no quick replies. I guess I'm now building a child theme based on twentyeleven and saving what I can from the old site.

Oh well. I'm sure it'll be the best scenario in the long run but it's going to be a long weekend.

If anyone has anything helpful for this undertaking other than the info listed on wordpress.org's docs for theme help, fire away.

Sounds like an unfortunate situation -- wish there was a quick and easy fix to offer you. But you might also want to consider that if you are using the site for job searching, having outdated or error-laden code/technology won't be a positive for you or your work. So investing time and effort now will likely payoff. Best of luck with the site and your job search.

Well, it has been rebuilt and I'm considering some additions as well but for the time being this post is closed.
