Theme Preview Screenshot not showing (2 posts)

    Hey -

    I just reinstalled wordpress due to some complications with my webhost and now the screenshots for the different themes don't show up in my dashboard. They just remain white squares, including WP Classic, and Default. The actual previews work fine, if you click on the blank squares.

    I've been trying to figure out what file that page is looking for, but I'm still a little new here...

    I found this line in wp-includes/theme.php

    Line 323: $screenshot = false;

    And thought it may have been the issue, but upon changing it to 'true', I had no success either. Can anyone point me in the right direction? What am I missing here?

    Edit:

    I forgot to mention I've already made the changes recommended by Chadparry:

    "The bug is in the file wp-includes/theme.php. There are two places in that file where you can find this string:
    '|[^a-z0-9_.-/]|i'
    To fix this problem, change both of them to:
    '|[^a-z0-9_./-]|i'
    (The only difference is the location of the hyphen character)."

    Check the permissions on the wp-content/themes folders. If necessary, reset the permissions back to 755. I've noticed similar strange behaviour with permissions set at 766 or 767.
