Theme Preview Displays Current Theme Only (2 posts)

    Hello:
    A few days ago, I attempted to use a couple of plugins that allows me to preview themes as an administrator, while keeping the current theme viewable for everyone else. In both cases, all of the themes I've attempted to preview ended up with the current one being previewed instead.

    I sat on it for a few days, knowing that WP 2.8 was coming. After the upgrade this morning, I later went into Appearance from the Dashboard and click preview under a couple of themes; again, the same result.

    I've tried clearing out the cookies, but no go. I tried a couple of browsers, but the problem seems to be consistent. Since this was identified as a bug, I would assume that 2.8 would have fixed the errant part of the code that apparently has resolved the issue for some users.

    I will give the latter solution a try; otherwise, any assistance on how to resolve this would be appreciated. Thanks.

    I have a solution! Go to the file: wp-admin/themes.php
    There is a line:
    $preview_link = esc_url(get_option('home') . '/');

    Change the get_option piece to read: get_option('siteurl')
    That worked for me perfectly.
    Good luck!
