Platform has a new version I'd like to update to, but I remember in the past that some of my settings got messed up by automatically updating. It's been awhile since I've worked with my theme so I don't remember what I had to do to keep the update from screwing up my settings. WordPress recommends using "child themes" but I don't remember if I ever learned about that.
Is there a simple way for me to do the update without losing my settings?
