[resolved] Logo and Background Formatting issues (14 posts)

    I upgraded to Pagelines 1.2.5 on Friday 09/14. When I did so the background image to my site disappeared and the site logo I had formatted to be centered is now aligning to the right. I'm not sure what changed. Any suggestions?

    Do you have a Child Theme or Custom CSS plugin?

    I'm not using a child theme and I don't believe I am using a custom CSS Plugin. I have some custom code in the custom code section on the Pagelines that was centering my site logo.

    body
    {
    .mainlogo-img{margin:0 auto;}
    }

    Make sure you don't update your theme, as changes you've made to theme files will erase.

    You'll need to post a link to your site for help with this -- so that someone can look at the CSS code live.

    And if your theme has a custom CSS code section/option -- then updating the theme should not be a problem and you don't need to use a child theme or plug-in (per Andrew's posts).

    Thanks guys. My site is an internal site. Is there another way to share the code? I'm pretty new to this.

    This is the code from the homepage...I couldn't figure out any other way to share it.

    If you are using the paid version of Pagelines, you should look to them for support -- that's part of what you paid for. Or try using a tool such as Firebug to look at the CSS code on the page in question live -- so you can see what needs to be changed.

    I have the lite version which is why I posted here...but thanks for the suggestion with Firebug. I will check it out.

    Oh, just looked again at the CSS code you posted above and it has incorrect syntax -- you cannot put CSS declarations inside another one -- right now the centering CSS is inside the body css. Not going to work no matter what you do!

    It should only be this -- assuming that class is correct:

    .mainlogo-img{margin:0 auto;}

    If that does not work, try adding a width attribute to the above CSS -- for the width of the logo image.

    I thought that wasn't right...thanks for catching! I updated it but it still didn't fix my problem...trying firebug now.

    Also be sure you clear your browser cache -- styles are sometimes cached so changes won't show up right away.

    You could also make sure that your code validates -- in case you have CSS or mark-up errors that are adding problems.

    Somehow I fixed it...thanks all for your help!
