I figured it out!!! I created a new page and changed “Page Attribute” (right sidebar)/Template to front page. Then I went to Settings>Reading and changed the “Front page displays” to “Static page” and selected Home from the “Front Page” pulldown menu.

I have a similar problem. I wrote some articles but in front page there is message “Apologies, but no entries were found.” Is it necessary to turn it somewhere on? Articles are visible in category pages, so I hope they are correctly saved.

Hello 🙂 I kind of have figured out a lot of things through trial and error, but the biggest thing is that the answers really depend on which version of the template you’re using: wordpress.com or wordpress.org? They have different settings to make the images show up on the first page in the slider.

I have the wordpress.com version. What’s the trick on getting the sliders to work? I don’t have a front page option and I don’t have a ‘location’ option.

Okay Katurahdesigns, I figured that you have to upload a feature picture then under that you have to click featured for it to be of the scrolling articles. Your picture should be around 730×380 to fit nicely. I hope that helps.
I can only get one sticky post to show in my slider. Even then the posts won’t show in recent articles. I am using the showcase page as my home static page. I need help with this. Everything was working fine – now, I have no idea. My content is there but I can’t see it. HELP! My deadline is Sept 4.
Coutneyagueta, make sure that all of the post for your slider have a ‘featured’ picture and that the button for featured is marked. It will show up then.
