    Hi there!

When I install the Oxygen theme (version 2.2.0) on my website, I receive the following error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function register_meta() in /mnt/webi/a3/93/53305493/htdocs/WordPress_01/wp-content/themes/oxygen2/library/functions/meta.php on line 46

I really like the design, could anyone help me to fix this problem?
    Thank you.

    Zso

    zsofiadmin:

It looks like the theme is installed in an incorrect folder. I see oxygen2 as one of the folders. The folder should be oxygen.

I would try deleting the theme using the WP admin. If there are two copies installed, delete both of them. Start over and install it again. Make sure it installs in the oxygen folder not oxygen2.

You may have to use FTP or your webhost file manager to remove/delete the folders.

    Hi Kurt!

Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately this is not the problem.

The original error message is this one:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function register_meta() in /mnt/webi/a3/93/53305493/htdocs/WordPress_01/wp-content/themes/oxygen/library/functions/meta.php on line 46

I renamed the original oxygen folder in FTP to be able to enter in my wordpress account again.. Now I deleted the folder and installed the theme again, but it still doesn`t work.

    zsofiadmin:

Are you running the latest version of WordPress? If not, update to the latest version of WP.

That's about the only information I could find about this theme and that error.

Thanks Kurt. I use WordPress version: 3.2.1, that should not be a problem either..

  6. Thanks Kurt. I use WordPress version: 3.2.1, that should not be a problem either..

Except that that register_meta() function was apparently introduced with version 3.3.

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Version_3.3

    Introduce register_meta(), get_metadata_by_mid(), and *_post_meta capabilities

If you want to use that theme, you'll need to upgrade WordPress. The 3.2.1 version will just not work with that theme (and others I'm sure).
