I uploaded wp-andreas01 manually and recreated the file structure next to the 2 available themes under content/themes, but I it doesn't show up as available.
Was there something else I was supposed to do besides unzip the files and upload them to my host site?
Make sure you havent "nested" the theme folder. Ive explained what that means in this 2-part tutorial.

No, I made sure the new folder was co-equal and on the same level with Classic and Default. There are no spaces in the folder name.
did you actually watch the videos?
/wp-content/themes/default/
and
/wp-content/themes/newtheme/
may very well be correct. Its what is inside of newtheme/ that is important.
If you want further assistance, youre going to need to provide more info:
Specifically, what is the url to your blog?

The blog is not public. It's in a temporary practice folder.
The new theme is laid out identically to the other themes, with 14 files and an IMG files with more files under that. It is not nested in any way.
Maybe just wiping them and starting over would do something..

I know you have a hammer but not every problem is a nail. The theme folder was not nested.
Hosting support unzipped WP 2.6 in two different places. I was looking at one but had uploaded the theme to the other. Moved the theme folder to the other install and it worked fine.
umm.. I wasn't suggesting that they were nested. I figured that showing you that the link above was a 404 was what prodded you to look further.
EXCUSE ME.

I'm new to WP and I had the same problem getting the new theme to show up from my localhost WP...until I checked the permissions and saw that everyone has NO ACCESS. Once I changed the permissions it indeed showed up on my available themes list. Hope this helps!

Just want to say thanks to lilychen for mentioning permissions.
Apparently, I was also having the same problem.
All's good now.
