Theme Live Preview beyond homepage (12 posts)

I love the new Live Preview for themes in 3.4.1. It's great. But my issue is it only seems to work for the homepage. If I click anywhere else to my site, I get the theme that's up on my site currently. Is there a way I can preview other pages on my site so I can see how my other templates are doing?

No, the preview should work on anything that is on the front side of your site.

Meaning, just the homepage. That's the issue.

Pages, posts, comments all on the front side should be seen in the preview.

    Have you tried:
    - deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). If you can't get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

Turning off the plugins only makes matters worse. Now clicking any link takes you nowhere but the homepage.

I can't. It's for a theme not yet published. Why do you think I'm using Live Preview? So only me and the client can see it?

Why do you think I'm using Live Preview?

I have no idea what live preview is. I was talking about the normal theme preview that comes with wordpress. Your issue is with the plugin.

No, it's not. Live Preview is new to v3.4. It's never been in WordPress before. Now granted there are theme preview plugins on the market but this is now standard in WP.

Oh, that Live Preview :^) I am using a 3.5 development version and don't even know where it is (enter red face here) or if my current theme supports it.

Are you using WordPress MU? There are some problems with that and Live Preview.

No, I'm not using WPMU. Just standard issue 3.4.1. If you go to Appearance-->Themes you'll see the Live Preview on every theme you're not using. Click on it and watch your site change. But only you're seeing it.

Thanks, I don't have that option on any of the unused themes. I'll have to do some research on that.

In the interim the normal debug was above. If that does not change anything then the next step would be to delete the wp-includes and wp-admin folder and from a fresh download of wp upload new copies of those folders to the server.
