When you run into a theme that does that, the best plan is to never use that theme again. Fortunately, you don’t need to do a complete re-install to fix the problem. Just access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename every directory except the /default/ directory. This will force the Default theme to activate and all should be fine.

Thank you for replying macmanx. What bothers me is, the demo from the website that offers the download shows the theme in working condition. I’m thinking, maybe there is something I need to install first or configure before activating the theme?! If you have some tips about this, please reply back. I really want to use 1 or 2 of these themes because they look very professional.

    Thanks

It could be a permissions issue. After you upload the theme’s folder to /wp-content/themes/, make sure that the permissions of the theme’s directories are set to 755 and the files are set to 644.

That’s something I’ve not tried yet. Let me check that. Thanks a lot macmanx.

    Macmanx, the file permissions work!
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it.

Macmanx, I’ve checked the file permissions and I see that every file has 644 and every folder has 755. In other words, it is already set that way. I did change it or something. The weird thing is, it worked on my bloggercorner website but not on the glitterstop website. To check, I tried 3 themes. 2 worked in bloggercorner and none works on glitterstop. All FTP has the same 755 for folder and 644 for files.

Try deactivating all of your plugins before activating the theme. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

I’ve tried deactivating all plugins and to make sure, I even deleted all plugins. Unfortunately I still can’t use the theme I want.

The other users are not having the same problem because they are not trying to use the same theme form the same developer. And you’re wasting everyone’s time by posting in three other threads. If you have followed all the steps to try to use that theme – permissions, plugins and reuploading – and it still doesn’t work, then find another theme. Those themes have hidden affiliate links and other code in the functions.php file that are sketchy and will cause problems.

Oh, I’m sorry about that, Sir. My problem is, I can’t find any other theme that fits my blog. If this theme works on other sites, I’m wondering why it will not work on my site? I hope someone knows the answer to this issue.
