[Theme: Intuition] target="_blank" opens a new window instead of tab (1 post)

    Hi,

    I recently started working with WordPress. I'm more of the front-end so what I do is to enter content.

    However, I've noticed something puzzling where in a previous HTML site, the code:
    target="_blank"

    opens up the link in a new tab on Google Chrome; however, when this is replicated in a WordPress site, selecting of the option "open link in a new window/tab" causes the link to be opened in a new window instead of a tab.

    When I look at the HTML code behind that link, it is perfectly fine and if I use an online HTML editor to check, the link opens up in a new tab.

    I would like all the links that I designate to open in a new tab, rather than a new window.

    Is this because of a code on the PHP side of my installation, or is this something that WordPress has recently added?
