   i am new to wordpress. I am trying to install a new theme & when I enter my username & password I get the following msg "Username/Password incorrect for mecacoach". I have logged on and off using the same username & password but for some reason that same username & password is not accepted at this point.

   Any help would be great. Thanks

   Try and clear your cookies and see if you log in

   I cleared everything including the cookies and the system still gives me the same error msg ""Username/Password incorrect..."

   Any other suggestions out there?

   Only other thing to do is reset your password use one of steps here

   Thanks but that didn't either. I am trying to install the "fresh ink" theme. I've tried other themes but I still cannot pass that error msg ""Username/Password incorrect..."

   I have reset the password several times and logout & login several times.

   Any other suggestions.

   If WordPress is asking you to log in during the theme installation, it's asking for your FTP login credentials, which is different from your WordPress login credentials.

   If you don't know your FTP login credentials, contact your hosting provider.
