Theme installation: Fatal error: Call-time pass-by-reference has been removed

    Hello everybody, I’ve a problem with installation of a new theme.
    I’ve upload my website in localhost to to some tests, I’ve just bought and uploaded a new theme, but when I click to activate it, the answer is:
    “Fatal error: Call-time pass-by-reference has been removed in C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyPHP-12.1\www\wordpress\wp-content\themes\cookingpress-theme\cookingpress\backend\purepress-functions.php on line 200

    What does depend on? What should I do?

    Some theme just doesn’t work locally, can you try it on real server? It could be your local server PHP.

    I’ve just tried on my “real” website, but it says that “a css file is missing”.

    At minimum, a WordPress theme should have

    1. style.css
    2. index.php

    Other than that, you need to make sure that you upload the “cookingpress” folder into the “themes” and NOT the “cookingpress-theme”.

    Quick Reason: style.css and index.php files are located inside the “cookingpress” folder

    Does it make sense? 🙂
