Hi, there
I am quite new to WordPress and is now using it as my weblog editor.
Recently I downloaded from here "Pool" Theme and have uploaded it to my server host as it is said in the guide. But I never find it in my administration, dashboard/presentation.
Is there anything that I didn't do?

Check that you've installed in in the correct directory. The usual place is "/your/blog/directory/wp-content/themes". There you should have a directory called "pool" or something similar. Then check that all the files are there and that your host's webserver can read them.
