    I am new to WP, and to any PHP/CSS/HTML coding. I am trying to modify the "lightword" theme.
    Website this is at is http://www.pandaandpenguin.com

    The header that currently says "Panda and Penguin. Just another WordPress blog" I want it to say "Panda and Penguin. Oh, my God! We've got our own site!" No idea where/what/how to do that. Being able to replace the whole thing with a small image would even be better! Any help would be great.

    2nd issue/question. The sidebar. The whole "Blogroll" section. I want that gone, and replaced by another section. Where/how do I change that?

    Last but not least. Background image. I know how/where to add it, but how do i make it where it auto-stretches to the viewers resolution?

    Blogroll
    In your theme's sidebar.php file, find this code

    <h3><?php _e('Blogroll','lightword'); ?></h3>
    <ul>
    <?php wp_list_bookmarks('title_li=&categorize=0'); ?>
    </ul>

    That displays the blogroll. Replace it with whatever you like.

    Background image.
    CSS can not stretch an image to make it fill a browser width. What it can do is repeat the same image over and over to fill the available background.

    body { background-image: url(myfile.jpg) repeat; }
    you can also replace 'repeat' with
    no-repeat (display once)
    repeat-x (repeat only horizontally
    repeat-y (repeat only vertically )

    1. Visit Administration > Settings > General to change your tagline.

    2. Probably in your sidebar.php you would delete the code that refers to the template tag, wp_list_bookmarks(). You might also consider using Widgets or if you are using Widgets then delete the the Links Widget.
