Hello! I am new to WordPress and am just building my site: http://www.alleybc.com

I would like to create a dedicated secondary page for all my blog posts to reside. Ideally, I'd like to only feature one or two of my most recent posts on the homepage.

The Graphene Theme has so many options, and it's awesome, but I can't see a relatively easy way to do this. Any help would be appreciated!!!

    Thanks!

Yes, there is an easy way to do this.

Use a static homepage. (There are good instructions on how to do this in the codex.)

In Graphene Options, enable Homepage Panes, and set it to display one or two posts. That will be your main page.

Then, you can set however many recent posts (or excepts) you would like to set on your blog page.

Awesome! Thank you so much kjodle. It was super easy - should have figured that one out ahead of time. Here is the update: http://www.alleybc.com

    I have two more questions...

    1) On my new homepage, it shows the header "home" above the static text. Can I manipulate that header in some way, without changing the name of the page?

    2) I also changed my permalink so that it captures the post title, instead of using a number. However, I'd still like the option to select specific pages/posts for the slider. It was easy to do that before, as I just entered the page # from the URL. Now there is no page #... what should I enter in the Graphene Options instead?

    thank you!!!!

    First question:

    Add

    .home .post-title {display:none;}

    to your Custom CSS area.

    Second question:

Use my friend Josh's Ultimate TinyMCE plugin:
    http://www.joshlobe.com/2011/10/ultimate-tinymce/

Once you install it and activate it , go to "Miscellaneous Options and Features" and tick the box next to "Add ID Column". It will add a section to your post/page editing pane showing the ID of the post/page you are editing.
