Frisco for BuddyPress
[resolved] Display the site description in the header (3 posts)

    This is probably a more generic question, but what do I need to add to header.php to get the site description to display below the site title in the header? (I'm displaying with text instead of a logo for this project).

    Also, once it is in, how do I style it to ensure it doesn't break the responsive header?

    You'd need to edit the header.php file -- adding this line:

    <h2 id="site-description"><?php bloginfo( 'description' ); ?></h2>

    right below the site title code:

    <h1 id="logo" role="banner"><a href="<?php echo home_url(); ?>" title="<?php _ex( 'Home', 'Home page banner link title', 'buddypress' ); ?>"><?php bp_site_name(); ?></a></h1>

    Then you'd add CSS for the site-description:

    #site-description {
       add your styles here
    }

    The specific styles would depend on what you want it to look like and what default styles exist already in the theme.

    Great thanks. It's simpler than I thought it would be.

    I appreciate the help!

    This is resolved.
