Theme footer author links

    Many themes have live author credit links in the footer. Some themes have 3 or more author related links down there (instead of like 1). Are we obligated (legally etc) to include these links when we use a theme?

    I’ve noticed when running into blogs using many of these themes that many people remove the links.

    usually the theme author includes whether or not they like their links or any credits left in, its best to read the README and any other docs included w/ the download.

    Are you obligated? Depends on what the accompanying docs/readmes say, and perhaps how clear of a conscious you want.

    Some ppl also leave them in even w.o the author asking.

    Its not much to ask that someone get credit for a theme they created.
