I use the plugin "Private Messages For WordPress" and thay say if you want to use the messaging feature on the front end, and not just the back end, then you havee to upload the pm4wp-template.php to your current themes folder, so you can set a page to the Private Messages template

Basically, I am using the bbPress plugin, with the bbPress versioin of Twenty-Ten. I was wondering if on the next bbPress update, if the pm4wp-template.php file would be deleted? I know if I update the bbPress plugin VIA FTP, then it wouldn't. But, I always use the automatic update thing.

Thanks to anyone who helps! =)

yes, it is common for plugin to update everything in the plugin folder and erase what is not of use ( anymore ).

You should not add anything in plugin folders unless it is your own plugin;)

As the pm4wp plugin says, put it in the themes file, which is in the /themes/ folder.

read http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-20-theme-compatibility on adding the bbpress themefiles to your theme and there you can add what the pm4wp wants you to.

    Hello!

Thank you for the reply... I had tried the instuctions on http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-20-theme-compatibility before with no success.

What I wound up doing, is copying the theme files for BBP and changing the theme name, then uploading it as its own theme to my /themes/ folder. I will now (hopefully) set up the Front End PM function.

I will ask if I need any more assistance =)
