   Forgive me but I couldn't think of a better topic title.

   This is what's happening.

   I've had WordPress up and running fine for some time now. After much complaining to my Web Hosting Company about the slow server they had my account on they finally agreed to move my account to a newer faster server. Yeah.

   I did as they asked, changed the nameservers and waiting.

   Now that everything's been moved I have this HUGE problem.

   Whenever I try to edit the sidebar or any other file through the Theme Editor and I hit Update File after tweaking whatever, it says "File Updated" but then it wipes out the file. NOTHING IS THERE. I cut and pasted the text back in there that goes there, saved again, SAME THING.

   Anyone have a clue what the heck is going on here?

   My web host guru is telling me this is my problem since I'm using 3rd party software.

   I keep telling them that IT WORKED FINE ON THE OTHER SERVER 3rd party or not!

   Any help would be greatly appreciated!

   It sounds to me like there may be a problem with your server, honestly. It sounds like it's connecting to your server and there's some sort of interruption while the file is being transfered, thus corrupting the file and "wiping it clean". This type of issue happens to me sometimes when I'm uploading a whole lotta files at once - one of them sometimes just doesn't upload correctly and I have to do it again because of some hiccup on the server that caused the file to be corrupted while uploading.

   Usually, though, uploading a second time will be fine - but to me it sounds like your host's problem, not yours. (Most businesses like to hear that you're using 3rd party software, so they can just write it off as "not our fault" - I've known many to to this.)

   If it were me, I'd just get a new host. To just write you off is a complete lack of customer service, period. I'd hate to see what happens when you have a *serious* problem.
