[resolved] Theme Breaks in IE7. Even Worse in IE6. Help Please. (6 posts)

My main blog is located at http://www.workingauthor.com/

I'm currently making some changes and adding more sidebars to my layout. My development site is located http://www.writinginthedark.net/main/.

In FireFox, everything looks great. In IE7 the BODY thinks it's 50% longer for some reason, which makes my background center off-center. The strange thing is that none of the other elements recognize the wider body since everything else centers fine on the screen. As you can see, the top and bottom "stripes" that border my blog don't extend into the extra space to the right.

My theme breaks completely in IE6.

From left to right, the columns are referred to as SIDEBAR2, NARROWCOLUMN, SIDEBAR3 and SIDEBAR. Please note that on IE, the headers on SIDEBAR are not being called.

    Anyone have any solutions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Made adjustments. Still haven't fixed issue with IE body width, but now at least everything "looks" fine. Would still appreciate any advice for fixing IE. BTW, I believe IE6 still breaks my theme.

First place to start with cross-browser issues:

    validation

Even seemingly innocuous errors can have unpredictable results across browsers.

Thanks! I'll do that now. Will update afterwards.
