Theme and/or Plug-in for Name List Building

Looking for the easiest/best theme and/or plug-in to build a searchable content site that features names and their meanings and linguistic origins.

I have a database of names and categories in an Excel file that I’d like to upload to start out with, then I’d like to be able to add names thru a simple interface from the back-end only.

Also would like some static pages and a blog component. I have basic WP skills, but no coding ability.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
